Kristina Viirpalu CIRCLE at Tallinn Fashion Week 2025
October 28, 2025
On October 24th, Tallinn Fashion Week culminated with the presentation of Kristina Viirpalu’s latest collection, accompanied by the choreographic production “CIRCLE. The Circle of Life.” This was not merely a fashion show, but rather a tribute to women as the focal point of life.
Kristina Viirpalu herself states, “The show, which has been in my mind for nearly a year, is called The Circle of Life because we are all a part of the circle of life, walking this path together with victories and defeats. At the center of the circle is a woman searching for her great love. My desire was to involve male dancers to present women as works of art. And as women, we are all extraordinary pieces – I have the privilege of making my wonderful female clients feel even more special through the dresses.”
All 24 pieces presented in the show are, as usual, unique creations, made in Kristina Viirpalu’s atelier in Tallinn, utilizing only the finest European fabrics, laces, and countless hours of handcrafted work. The majority of the garments in the collection were festive, and of course, there were also bridal dresses. What set this collection apart from previous ones was the use of asymmetrical details and geometric, even architectural forms. Architecture has always been a source of inspiration for fashion designers.
The hand-stitched embroidery, which has always been Kristina Viirpalu’s signature, has evolved from traditional floral embroidery into modern and geometric designs. On the dresses and T-shirts, the graphic elements of Kristina Viirpalu’s brand logo shone brightly – her initials, which can be seen as long embroidery stitches as well as the needles for delicate lace knitting. This indicates the absolute personal touch with which each client is surrounded.
As a new product, the brand introduced T-shirts – a product that clients have long awaited. Something that is universal enough to fit in a travel suitcase, yet unique enough to express the distinctiveness of the beloved brand. Each T-shirt is unique as well, adorned with its own distinctive embroidery or application.
For Kristina Viirpalu, who has a background in choreography, it is important to stage all fashion shows as conceptually cohesive, and this time, contemporary ballet was employed to embody the Circle of Life – a great passion of the designer. Since the intention of the performance was to utilize contemporary ballet and symbolic elements from the very beginning, a collaboration was formed with Jevgeni Grib, the artistic director of the Vanemuine Ballet, resulting in a passionate male dance number that flowed through the fashion show.
